Boat Trips on the Kennet and Avon Canal

We have four boats along the canal, each conducting public trips. Use our system to select a suitable trip and book your tickets in advance.

Barbara McLellan
(Bradford on Avon)

The Barbara MacLellan is a 65ft wide-beam boat operating from Bradford on Avon Wharf Cottage, by the lock, BA15 1LE The boat will take a maximum of 20 passengers at present so that we can distance groups apart. There is a bar on board, serving hot and cold drinks and bar snacks, accepting only card payments. There is a small toilet on board. All passengers must be able to board and disembark using steps, without assistance from the crew. Dogs are not permitted on any of our trips. Whilst we are planning a full programme of trips in 2021 we cannot guarantee that every trip will run while we are under Covid restrictions. You can book with confidence that, if we cancel a trip for any reason, you will receive a full refund of your money - automatically!

Public trips every Wednesday, Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday from Good Friday to the end of October plus a range of special trips throughout the season

Kenavon Venture
(Devizes)

The Kenavon Venture is a wide beam boat seating up to 45 passengers operating from The Wharf, Devizes (adjacent to the Trust HQ and Museum). The boat does not have the capability of accepting wheelchairs and it is necessary for passengers to be able to embark and disembark using steps. There is storage space at the wharf for wheelchairs. Well behaved dogs are usually welcomed on our boat. Experience has shown that other passengers occasionally are unhappy about the presence of a dog. For this reason, we cannot promise that your dog will be able to come aboard. Passengers with dogs will be asked to wait until other passengers have boarded and we will then consult other passengers and make a decision on whether your dog may travel with us. If our skipper decides it cannot, we will refund your ticket.. The nearest SatNav postcode is SN10 1EB.

Every Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday from the 1 April to 29 October 2017. Also an additional trip on Thursdays at 2.30pm during the summer school holidays

Public trips run at 2.30pm every Saturday, Sunday and Wednesday from the beginning of April to the end of October, with an additional trip on Thursdays during the Summer school holidays.
